Hey guys,
in the self-congratulatory good news department, my series of articles about gym ethics for MMA success has been gaining some recognition lately. Yesterday, Gary Whitaker, from The Franchise, a well known radio show in Montreal, has posted my work on his website along with an amazing presentation. To be honest, Gary and I know each other. I didn't ask him to do this though, which makes it more pleasing. I strongly encourage you to go read it here. For those of you that are too lazy to click away, here it is (yeah, I'm too proud to keep it away from here).
Written by Benoit Lelievre for TOP MMA NEWS, "So You Want To Be A F@*$in' Fighter?" is a must read series for anyone who, guess what...wants to be a pro MMA fighter! There have been 5 parts to the series so far, and each one brings some great insight into what perspective fighters are really getting themselves into when it comes to trying to simply make it in a gym, much less to the UFC. So many people think that MMA, being a fast growing sport, is perhaps an easy or fun way to make a living, but they have no idea what is expected of them when they join a gym. Not only is Benoit Lelievre instrumental in putting together the wildly popular FightQuest Amateur mixed combat promotion, but he has worked to help out some of the great trainers and fighters from the world renown Tristar gym. Benoit Lelievre has had the opportunity to work behind the scenes in guiding many fighters to successful pro MMA careers, and I highly encourage anyone who has not checked out the series to do so now. It's well worth the time.
For those who haven't read the series yet, here it is.
