I've been inspired by a John Foley piece to do some YouTubing on David Simon this morning. I found this amazing (yet incomplete) interview about the Simon's writing process for the best show in history of television: The Wire. If you look passed the stupid setting of the interview, the questions address Simon's purpose and goals as a writer. You'll find a lot of surprising, yet inspiring answers about the most off-beat, realistic and gritty cop show ever made. The least I can say about Simon is that he has balls and ambition.
