Not every book released is an instant classic. Heck, not every book is released for the right reasons nowadays. The times are changing in the book industry and due to the emergence of the eBook market, good writing is finding home more and more often. This category rewards the best books that have been released since January 1st of 2011. So yeah, unless somebody died in tragic circumstances, those writers are still alive and you can become their fans and be treated to an indefinite amount of new books. There were many amazing entries this year. It's been difficult to narrow it down to only four, so I only took novels in consideration. Here are the nominees.
John Hornor Jacobs for Southern Gods
Matthew McBride for Frank Sinatra In A Blender
Megan Abbott for The End Of Everything
Heath Lowrance for The Bastard Hand
Have you read any of them? If so, who do you think should win?
