Writing update. I'm starting to reap the rewards of the hard work I've put in since the start of 2012. My story ORDO AD CHAO, the second short story I've ever wrote, is in the latest edition of NEEDLE Magazine. I'm very proud to be featured in NEEDLE, one of the best print venues for darker fiction. It's been a long time coming and a team effort with the editing staff, but it's finally there, nine months after I submitted it. I'm features alongside some writers I respect and admire, such as Matthew C. Funk, Kent Gowran, Chris La Tray, Kieran Shea and Nik Korpon. It's been published on March 14th. Lowell Sweeney is finally back, also. He will appear at THE FLASH FICTION OFFENSIVE tomorrow. Editor David Barber has been kind enough to give me the guest writer spot for March, so I could come up with UNDEAD. Let me tell you. Lowell feels a little better, but not all that much. Also, Wednesday of next week, I'll be guest on CHIN WAG AT THE SLAUGHTERHOUSE, the famous author interview series hosted by Richard Godwin. He asked me some pretty deep questions and I think the result is quite interesting. I'll be tweeting links to the interview from Wednesday to the end of next week. I must say it had quite the zesting effect on my work to scan the depths like that.
Last, but not least, here is the trailer to A FUCKLOAD OF SCOTCH TAPE, the movie adaptation of Jedidiah Ayres' short story, featured in OUT OF THE GUTTER MAGAZINE #5. I have read the story recently in preparation for a special short story review post dedicated to the works of the demented genius from Missouri. I can't wait for the movie to come out. From the trailer, it does justice to the bleakness and violence of the original story.
