What are you looking for, homie?

The Great Annual Blackout

It's that time of the year again, where I abandon western civilization for a week and hole myself up away from the world. So from August 4th to August 11th, I will be radio-silent on Dead End Follies. Tomorrow, I will review THE CENTAUR by John Updike (which I have just finished, like now) and that's it for a week.

I didn't steal the time off. Some of you are aware that my real-life situation has been difficult for the past month or two and pulling the plug for a week will have great healing value. In order to make you wait and anticipate my come back (hah, who am I kidding?), I will tell you this. I'll bring books and movies with me and I won't tell you what they are, so when I come back, there will be a week or two where I bulk-review some new stuff. Hint, the books I have listed on Goodreads aren't it. I will read Elmore Leonard and R. Thomas Brown when I come back.

Summer isn't the greatest time for blogging anyway. I'm aware people have better things to do than to waste warm and sunny days on the internet. So please, my dear readers, go out and have fun with people you love. I will be there when you come back.
